About Us

Edgemead Pre-Primary Schools Association was established in 1977 with the Anton Anreith Campus. In 1990, the Denison Way Campus was established to expand capacity for the school.

We are fortunate to have fully qualified teaching staff, and endeavor to keep our class sized at a manageable number of an average of 25 learners, with two teacher assistants per campus to lend a hand where required. Teacher assistants are also responsible for outdoor supervision and are certified first aid responders.

School hours are from 07:50 – 12:45 and follow school terms as stipulated by the Department of Education. Extended Care is offered to a maximum of 50 learners per campus from 07:00 – 17:45, Monday to Friday.

Attendance at Edgemead Primary is not guaranteed if your child attends Edgemead Pre-Primary Schools, although we are one of the primary feeder schools to Edgemead Primary. We view the pre-school years as the crucial foundation on which all future learning is built. Our curriculum, as prescribed by the Department of Education, focusses on foundational language, mathematics and life skills. A meeting which will shed more light on what this entails will be held in the first term of each year

Reports or progress feedback are sent home at the end of each term. Parents are given the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher on a one-on-one basis following the first term’s assessment. An orientation which entails an afternoon visit from 13:15 – 14:00, will take place in the last term. Children are given the opportunity to meet with their teacher and their fellow classmates in their classroom.

There is staggered intake at the beginning of each year, which gives us as teachers the opportunity to begin to build a relationship with and settle a small group of learners at a time.

We look forward to partnering with you to provide the best educational head start for your child.

We strive to provide a stimulating and educationally rich environment where each child is to be:

We aim to produce learners who are motivated to embark on a journey of lifelong learning, accompanied by informed parents able to assist them in their discovery of their special purpose in life.
